I am sure we should all be as happy as kings.”
To clarify, firemen (and women), you do not have to look like this. You do not have to have chiselled abs or massive arm muscles.
You just have to do what you do and know that I think you are great.
Scientists who work for hours and hours in boring labs and work out why stuff does what it does, I appreciate you. I love it when you make medicine and work very long and thankless hours to cure diseases. I love that you think so hard and chase an answer like an old school detective with a tireless pursuit of understanding.
People who get up out of bed and leave their families to keep us all safe, regardless how far you go, whether it is ten miles or three thousand, I appreciate you.
Tops, who keep their eyes on us and notice us and how we are, I appreciate you. Some of you are husbands, some are lovers, some are friends, some are writers, some are blog owners, and some are just people who may not even know they are Tops. You make my world less painful, less intimidating; you make me braver and stronger than I once was.
Bottoms, brats, and naughty girls, all those who make the world funnier, lighter, brighter and balance wit with empathy, I appreciate you. You are a touch of glamour and a hint of joy and I love that.
I know there are lots of sad things in the world. There are some terrible people and terrible events but sometimes it is good just to appreciate things.
