This is how it would be to be a pirate- none of that scurvy or keel hauling.
I have decided that reality can go away and eat worms.
(Because I am back at work today and, although I love work, I want another week off.)

I love work too, but I would love a real vacation as well. I’m not sure I’d want to be sunburned like that lovely pirate will be if she doesn’t pull her skirt back down though.
It looks like a beautiful day to be a piratess. The wind is in her hair, and she has managed to climb up there while wearing heels, the sign of a determined woman! She has forgotten her panties in her enthusiasm for the wonderful adventures ahead, of course. (Or else there is a Pirate Top behind her with her panties in his pocket, but this does not bear thinking of.)
I love my work too but I would love some time off as well. Going back to work after a break is always hard. Poppy, I hope this helps to make your first day at work a bit easier: .
(P.S. I don’t think Dev will like that much as there’s a word in there that he strongly disapproves of.
)
Oops, that didn’t work properly. Second try:
Double oops. Sorry.
Thought of the Day
Dev, do not look at that link but Mindy, it made me laugh a lot.
Shall I take the day off? I want to take the day off. I could take the day off. No one would ever think I would throw a sickie today.
I have to talk to lots of people and I don’t want to.
I am not in the right place to do a big talk to grown ups. I want to stay here and talk about being a pirate.
I am pouting.
Poppy’s speech on pirate:
Ahoy brats!
Come join the crew.
We’ll dress like pirates,
And hunt for treasure too.
Poppy, good morning. :rose :rainbow

I agree going back to work after a break sucks.
If I really thought that you were the type to throw a sickie, I would point out that tomorrow would be even worse.
The thought for the day is really good, but a senior manager would be lucky to get away in eight hours.
Great picture, I think Scarlet has the right idea.
I suspect your pout would send you off with a very warm seat, if Himself was there.
Have a good day.
Love and warm hugs, :love
Paul.
MINDY!
Yes, Dev? I’m trying to sleep. Please keep your voice down. It’s past midnight here.
I’ll join your pirate crew, Poppy :rose
Is that okay?
:monky
Maria
It would appear that Dred Pirate Poppy has been captured and hauled back to port in that photo. Captured but not conquered, Dred Pirate Poppy has put on the costume of her former station and bravely mounted the rail as the crew and townfolk have been called to witness punishment. No doubt Commodore O’Neill will administer the lash himself as befits such a worthy adversary. Chastised, just plain Poppy will resume her former place in society.
Well, at least until some derelict captain leaves his ship poorly guarded. It certainly appears she won’t be short a crew as her mere arrival has caused many of the ladies to consider the pirates life over parlor life.
They made me stay at work the whole time.
I have no idea why.
I liked the start of that tale, Nikolai and I liked the end of it but I did not like the middle bit.
No lashing for me- unless it is lashings of cream on apple crumble.
But you do tell a good story. You suit the nautical theme.
Dev, please do not tell Mindy off. She made me laugh this morning when I had to go off to work.
And Maria, I would LOVE you to be a pirate with me.
Yarrrrr :love

Commodore O’Neill. I like that. And I would administer the lashing myself, yes. Not the big cat though, the small martinet that the bosun uses on very young midshipmen.
(I will bring it to Australia with me on my next visit, if anyone is interested, Mindy.)
When is your next visit to Australia, Dev?
When you least expect it, Mindy.
Are you the Spanish Inquisition?
Because if so, they were right.
I do not look good in red, or speak Spanish, but I did take a page from their book.
