Please go to this site to sign a petition to the leaders of whatever country you are from to save Sakineh Ashtiani from being hanged today.
I do not like having political causes here and will not do it unless it is an extreme case. I can’t not use whatever forum I have to forward this message.
To find more about this case please read here.
I never know how these things are reported abroad, the charges are trumped up, the result of torture. The Iranian government did back down under international presure last time and there is a chance they will do so again.
Please spread the word however you can.
Thank you so much.

This stuff makes me sick.
I sent a message that was much more eloquent than that. Thank you for posting this, Poppy.
Thank you for making me aware of this Poppy. This is just terrible.
Thank you so much for reading. I hate blustering into people’s happy time like this. I think there is a chance we can save this woman’s life.
Ugh. This sort of thing is so horrendous. I already signed the petition so I guess I can’t sign again but well done for posting about it Poppy.
Poppy, I know about this young lady, I belong to several organisations seeking to help her.

I have signed this petition, and hopefully it will help.
I try not to despair, but sometimes I wonder.
Well done.
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
Thank you, Viola and thank you, Paul.
Doing something, that is the key, isn’t it? That is all we can do.
Poppy thanks for bringing this to our attention it only takes a minute
or two send the email so lets hope for the best
Poppy, thank you for making us aware of this. I have signed the petition, and made a call to the Iranian Embassy in Washington, which was suggested on the next page in the link after the petition. They gave phone numbers of the Iranian Embassy in every country. In the US it is 202-965-4990. In the UK it is 44 20 722 542 190. In Canada it is 613-235-4726. In Finland it is 358 9 6845391. All the other major countries are there.
I read a great quote once in a Nelson DeMille book: “Either one life matters, or no life matters.”
Thank you Poppy
I love hanging out with people who stand so tall.
I hope mine was received in time.
I just sent my email. Thanks for letting us know Poppy. I wish there was a way to stop all the crimes against women in these countries where women have no rights, hopefully we can at least save one.
Thank you all, very much.
Thank you so much everyone that signed, rang or spread the word.
There is still no news – I will put up my next post as normal (but a bit late- about 1 o’ clock UK time) and I will put an update up when it is avaliable. It is 10:33 am in Iran as I write this. If they have decided to kill her then it may well have happened by now.
Terrifying stuff. The more I read about it the more it shocks me.
Thank you for standing up, Poppy! I’ve just signed the petition. Hopefully, it’s not too late.
