The reason for pretty underthings.

There is no day that a corset and a pair of stockings cannot improve.

And what appears to be a cloak made entirely of black ibis feathers. ‘Zounds!

  2. Kate says:

Amen to that Poppy. And if no corset can be had, I’ll settle for a sexy pair of panties – it’s amazing how they can change your whole outlook. Wink

By the way I love that shot of Maggie G.

  3. Paul says:

    Poppy, good morning.
I can’t disagree, good lingerie can change a girls whole outlook. Grin
Dev, “‘Zounds!”, how very 17th century. I’ve always wondered how they managed that, with their cutlass between their teeth. Wink
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

    Corsets… Mmmm…

    I love them!

It does take some nerve to work that word into everyday conversation, Paul. Smile

Poppy is right now atop a very high hill looking out across a very vast, very beautiful but very desolate landscape, that may not be an actual moor, but is quite moor-like. She sends her best regards.

Poppy atop the hill looking out over the moors seems so Charlotte Bronte that I am consumed with location envy. Hope you’re having a wonderful time, Poppy!

Love the word “zounds,” Dev. I love how “zounds” sounds. (although I do believe it rhymes with wounds, not sounds). And Paul, I now have a visual of both you and Dev with cutlasses clenched between your teeth (you each have one or two gold capped ones), scarves tied jauntily around your heads, and of course, you’re wearing billowy sleeved shirts. And your women are in corsets with the–what was it, Dev?–the ibis-feathered cloaks. Wonderful!

So much in a word, isn’t there?

  7. Paul says:

Scarlet, how very complimentary, thank you.
Poppy sounds lovely, I’ve done that on Dartmoor, Bodmin, Exeter, Scafell, Snowdon and Ben Nevis, to name but a few.
I envy, but I hope in a nice way, your age and fitness to do this. I’ll bet the dogs are enjoying themselves.
When I was enjoying this it never occurred to me that one day I would be physically unable to do this.
Treasure your memories, they will not rot or perish.
    Love and warm hugs,
    Paul.

  8. Viola says:

    Oh, what a lovely picture!

  9. devlinoneill says:

Thanks, Scarlet. I like the billowy sleeved shirts. No idea why I don’t have a closet full of them. Or any, come to that. No cutlasses either, I’m afraid, but I suppose I can pick up a few of each when I go shopping for ibis-feather cloaks. Someone will have to help me to tie a scarf jauntily, though. Wink

And ‘zounds is the contraction, more or less, of ‘God’s wounds’ so yes, it does rhyme with wounds.

I hate it when I miss all the comments.

I like to just slip in between them but now, I must be all organised.

Dev, egad, that is luxury and all that sort of thing. I think one reason for us finding each other is that we both say things like “zounds” and “egad”.

Kate, I agree on the knickers and on Maggie G. That rhymed, how super. Even cute, silly knickers help. I used to have some Joe Cool ones that were so not sexy but when I was having a hard day at work I would just smile to myself and think, “Yes but I have Joe Cool knickers on.” It helped more than it should, I suspect.

Paul, you are so right. It can. May I have a cutless? It would help me a lot. I am not saying what with. I will post a little video of the view in a bit, on my vanilla photo section.

    Maria, me too! Smile

Scarlet, I love your vision. I want to be that maiden.

    Viola, I agree. Smile

I have always pronounced zounds as in rhyming with sounds. But what is a little “ooo” or “ow” sound between friends?
