This post is for all you people peeking in through the window. I have popped out to say hello.
*Poll at the side and the top for people who do not wish to speak. I will leave it up for a week- watch no one click it and see how embarassed I get.
Except that I should call today LML because it is only me here but I want to say very simply that I do very, very much appreciate every single click.
That you read here makes me feel good; you offer an ear and an eye. You make me feel that I can write. You make me feel like I am worth spending time with.
I want to say thank you. Thank you very much indeed.
I understand lurking and I do not think it a bad thing. It is nice to be quiet sometimes, nice just to have some time to not say a word.
So in sympathy for those people who want to say hello but without speaking a word I have put a poll up. That way if you want to say hello you can do so without saying a word. I have thought of some options but it was very hard. The poll will be up for a week – use it to say hello please, please, please.
But if you do want to say hello then just do. I would love to hear from you. If you can’t think what to say then just tell me where you are from. I love to imagine all the different places and time zones and weather and everything.
Thank you again.
Poppy

Poppy, I’m hardly a lurker, I just popped bye to offer encouragement to those who would like to comment.

I can assure you that the author writes well, rarely bites, and, on the whole, I am reliably informed, is quite often good?
Love and warm hugs,
Paul.
Have I commented here before? I’m not sure
. I should have, though! A fine blog you have, Poppy.
Cheers
Chross
Happy LML day Poppy, though I’m technically not a lurker, having commented before. I think you do bring a unique perspective to the spanking world. Not sure why that would be except that you must be a special person. Let me praise the generous way in which you share your feelings with your readers — subtle nuances of feelings that maybe other don’t pay attention to, or don’t think are worth mentioning — and yet they convey so much. Your writing is so intimate that I feel I actually know you pretty well, just from reading your stuff. So let me join in today’s one-handed applause!
Thanks very much, guys. Poppy still is at work so unable to respond, but I know she’s delighted to read these comments.
Hi Poppy! You know I love you, but I’m going to use today to say it again. You write so beautifully, so gently, every word carefully chosen and exactly true. You say so often what is in my heart that you let me stop twirling for a moment and just rest in the way things are. There are a few places I comment now, but yours was the first. You spoke to me so clearly and in such gracious and elegant language that I found myself speaking out loud, surprising myself most of all.
And of course, look what that led to… I’m sending hugs to you today!
Hi Poppy, of course not a lurker but for sure a fan…I wish you a happy LOL day!
Hi Poppy. Love your blog as always. I am not a lurker but wanted to say hello
Like Scarlet, your site was the first I posted on…you have a wonderful way with words that can make even the shyest lurker (like me!) feel safe and welcome. Happy LOL day.
Not a lurker Poppy but always enjoy visiting your excellent and so much fun blog.
Happy LOL Day.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
Happy LOL Day, Poppy. Have a great one.
And I really do love your blog. No girl with a blog as great as yours should ever be spanked (well unless he just absolutely insists).
Hugs,
Pink
Hi! Happy LOL day…
Off to let my inner brat out!
Finally home after another mammoth day and it was so bad that the little car crash I had (me vs a wall) was not the worst part of it. (I am fine).
I am blown away by all of this. A comment from Chross himself, a new bit of Heaven to explore, BP (who I adore too), Michael who is always a delight, Ronnie who lives in the UK and is great fun, the gentle and fun Kate, Cookie whose site I lurked on for a long time before I spoke anywhere, Sara whose blog I also frequented and was inspired by in my early years just as I inspired now, Scarlet whose comment made me cry because I needed very much to hear something lovely, Karl who made me cry too (how kind of you) and Paul who I can rely upon every day to say something thoughtful and who is ever the gentleman.
Dev, you get a new sentence because you do hate the run on kind. xxx
My poll is up now
I am so glad you LOL! Your blog never ceases to make me smile and think, Poppy. Thank you for that and for being so willing to share. I am peeking in on all my favorite blogs and leaving a comment. Usually I just slip in quietly, read and drift out muddling your words and the words of your fellow bloggers for hours and sometimes days. One day I hope to find my own voice in this spanking community. For now, thank you.
~shy~
Shy, welcome, thank you and I do believe that you just started to find your voice.
You really do have lovely friends, Poppy.
I do, don’t I?
Always nice to hear from you Poppy
Happy LOL ……….
MarQe x
Poppy, you are a gifted writer. You say a lot in just a few words. I am from southern California.
Thank you, Marque!
July, you have a pretty name and thank you so much. That is such a kind thing to say.
hi, just popped by to say Happy LOL day.
Prefectdt
Isn’t LOL day, fun?
Hurrah for LOL day. HI, to you, Prefectdt.
No lurker here, but dropping by with love anyway!
Happy LOL V to you, sweetie.
Poppy,
I’m not really a lurker but I haven’t commented in a while. It’s the weirdest thing, somehow your blog crawled off my reader and I had to go back and catch up. I just realized this the other day when I thought, “Poppy hasn’t posted in a really long time…” And that’s when I figured it out. Anyway, sorry about that, maybe I deleted it by mistake at some point. So Happy LOL Day, I really love your blog, you are an excellent writer!
Ally
Hi, Erica! Thank you – it is a busy old day, isn’t it?
Hi, Ally- thank you for the link and also thank you for saying that thing about me which makes me terribly pleased but blushy.
Happy LOL day, Poppy! I started visiting your blog regularly a short while ago. It seems like our kinks and styles of writing are quite different, but I like your posts and reading about your experiences and points of view!
Many greetings from Germany,
Kaelah
Hello Poppy,
I became one of your many lurkers a little over a month ago. As i read your blog, your thoughts seem reminiscent to the words in my journal; it left me completelyenthralled by you. It is an amazing feeling to come across someone who seems to know you better than you know yourself. A kindred spirit.
However, i could never bring myself to comment or to speak, i’m still so very shy about the subject of TTWD, or, more precisely, this thing i wish to experience in my own life. You are part of the reason I refuse to put aside my deep rooted needs, acting as if they do not exist…
You are everything i imagine this thing to be. You have become my woman in the red dress {The Perfect Woman (and her bum)}. The woman I would like to grow up to become on day. Thank you for taking the time to share with the world. It lessens the loneliness inside the fear, and breaths courage into the hearts of those yearning to break free and just be themselves.
Sincerely,
Phoenyx
Happy LOL day Poppy!
Happy LOL, Poppy. I love your approach and content. Keep up the good work.
Hi
Happy LOL day! I don’t consider myself a lurker but your blog rocks! The poll is a great idea!
Hugs,
Hermione
Phoenyx, I have had a battering few days at work – really terrible and reading what you wrote made me cry and made me realise that … just wow. Life is wonderful. Thank you so, so much for that beautiful comment. I am humbled and healed by it.
Katia, hi!
Mitch, hello and thank you much.
Hermione, blog rocks! I love it!! I hope the poll works. I do not know whether to be offended or relieved by how few readers want to spank me.
Hi Poppy, just a brief note to say I’m sorry to hear about your accident. You’re obviously okay, so hopefully the car and the wall got the worst of it. I think that when work has been stressful and there isn’t enough time in the day for all we have to do that accidents creep up on us. So glad you’re through with this week, and hope the car recovers quickly!
Thank you.
Bull bars.
Ha!
I am fine – just really quite tired. Thanks again, xxx
Hi Poppy, I’m a lurker, but I do really enjoy your spirited, imaginative, stylish blog and your delightful sense of humour, it all makes spanking even more fun. Thanks, and I’ll carry on lurking (might even summon the energy to post occasionally, but as a typical male stereotype I can never think of anything to say). Hope your present troubles ease. I’m from the south of England.
All my troubles are over, thank you so much.
I love your name and I love the idea of a typical male stereotype reading here. And seing as we are both Brits I feel I should comment on the recent frosts. Chilly, isn’t it?
Thank you so much for your comment, Oakworker.
Hi, I’m a fully qualified lurker! Been lurking for months after I discovered the privacy setting on my computer! Like many others, I found sites which made me uncomfortable and things I would rather not read, but this never happens here or on Dev’s site. It’s a lovely mixture of thought provoking and humorous, and I don’t feel so weird. Thank you.
(I’m from the north of England)
LML? Lacking my Laughs.. No that can’t be it. Licking my Lollypop, Hmm I like that.
happy LOL Day
Hi Poppy,
Happy LOL day !
I want to thank you and all the other blogging folks out there that I frequent. I am rather new to TTWD and was nervous to go on these sites, I wasn’t sure what I would see or read. I was sure they were full of sick, demented wierdos. I ventured forth anyway and was never so happy I did and wished I did long ago. I found warm, funny, caring normal ( well, sort of ) people out there that enjoyed the same thing I did. I didn’t feel so alone anymore. This is a very lonely lifestyle, I have never been so happy in my marriage ( of 28 years) and yet I can’t tell anyone or talk about it. I really cherish the friendships I have started out here in blogland. (really only on yours and Dev’s) The silly banter back and forth is very entertaining and I often laugh out loud at some of the comments. So, again, I would like to thank YOU on this LOL Day. I don’t usually comment on your posts, your writing is so poetic, mine sounds like a newspaper article
(sorry this is so long)
Take care and I hope your work week gets better,
Kaki
Poppy, yay! I’ve been so busy it’s like a whirlwind. All good, but I keep missing lots of posts. The weather here in Canada is pretty mild. Hope you’re doing wonderfully.
Happy LOL day, Poppy! Thank you for brightening my days. I’ve posted over at Dev’s too. Love reading you both. I’m in Tulsa, OK, USA. Weather here is delightful.
Ephemera
Lurker sounds somewhat creepy so I’ll describe myself as a tongue-tied loiterer if you don’t mind, Poppy. I love the way you write: precise and simple sentences which carry what you have to say so perfectly. ‘Caned as punishment’ was my favourite, I think. Keep up the good work (or else!;0))
Hi, everyone, and thanks so much for all the thoughtful comments, especially you folks on the sceptre’d isle. I like knowing that Poppy has so many friends close at hand, even if you never meet in person. (Alice, did I hear echoes of The Parrot Sketch when you listed your qualifications? Just curious.)
And speaking of Poppy, she will be back tomorrow. Bedtime couldn’t come soon enough for her, I’m afraid, though she still fought it valiantly, when she could keep her eyes open.
Have a wonderful evening, everyone!
Gosh Dev you’re good! Didn’t realize I could say give so much away in one small comment! Had to go back to the sketch to see what you meant. I listened to records of Monty Python endlessly at an impressionable age, they were hilarious even without the visual images.
“I’m a fully qualified brain surgeon! I only do this because I like being me own boss.”
And BTW, Alice, your comment on the blite yesterday was waylaid along with a couple of others, and I responded over there as well.
Hi Poppy,
Yes, you do LOL, and we’re all better for it. Thank you for all you do and for being a beloved member of our community.
Hugs,
Bonnie
