That is quite right because it was a very important day for Americans.
However, the date has changed.
It is the fifth of July, 2010.
It is logical that the date climbs in order.
Date, month, year.
It is such a relief to have things in order again.
Britishness is restored.
However, it is a relief to be British for many other reasons, not least that we have the skill of remembering skirts.
