Yes Poppy she is pretty and as for whether the stockings / suspenders are sexy or sensible that is just a matter of taste. Up to a few years ago I would have said the latter but as a collector of old postcards my view has changed to, yes she is sexy. Perhaps it is a matter of taste or ones perspective changes, which on closer inspection shows that there is more to be seen from this simple image than at first glance.
This 1920’s genre of postcard was designed to titillate to viewer and for me this still happens. Often the models, sorry to be unkind weren’t that attractive by modern standards but they had a certain something that is difficult to quantify but even now excites and make the viewer smile. The beauty of this type of image is that the viewer can place their own interpretation on the scene, she may be waiting for her lover, she may just be posing for a friend or she could be waiting to be spanked. What ever the real reason she remains sexy. (Do you ever look at these images and wonder where they are and what they think of them now? It puts a whole new perspective on the notion of “hot grannies” LOL)
Oh, I think both girls are pretty sweet! You know, Poppy, I have started to design and sew retro/vintage underwear, especially knickers or panties, for myself! I think they are so romantic and adorable

There is a certain frisson about vintage erotica, possibly produced by the degree of naughtiness models felt in those more modest times, the almost sparkling mischievous freedom vibe preserved in a photograph. Also, photography was often taken a little more artistically in the early days, and the idea, as with painting, was to somehow capture an atmosphere that led the viewer into a deeper appreciation of the nuances of the moment and mood presented.

The other picture is nice, too. A few posts ago you had a cute vintage pic of a girl with a writing quill, and I found that remarkably bewitching, also. I think overall it's a feminine vibe thing. At least it is for me.

Although poorly phrased what I meant was, it is often easy to dismiss / forget that older people were young once with all the fun (hopefully) that goes with youth.

Stockings seem to have been sexy, like, forever. I have noticed that in the vintage pictures (not that I've made any kind of study, you understand) they seem more wrinkled. Whether it's the stockings or tastes that have changed, who can say?
