Do you ever feel that life is a big old meanie and has stood you in the corner?
I am in a funk because lots of things feel hard at the moment. I don’t want to go on about it because I am English and we know that talking about things does not make them any better. I think maybe it is just too cold for June and I need work to be easier- there are other things too. I would like to be able to sit under my table today or to spend time in bed reading old childhood books.
Do you know what I need? No, not a spanking. I need a fairy godmother to swoop down and just sort a few things out. This is what my fairy godmother would look like.

Poppy, sorry right out of Fairy Godmothers at the moment.
One cheerful thought, the week is nearly over.
Hope things improve for you.
Warm hugs,
Paul.
PAul's right. Once "hump day" (Wednesday) is over, it's all downhill towards the weekend.
Hugs,
Hermione
Hi Poppy, I know what you mean about talking about things not making them any better–frequently, that just makes me feel worse. Maybe I was English in another life!
Keep in mind that this is a mood, and moods change. Paul, I'm sorry you're out of Fairy Godmothers–I try to always keep one or two around for when I need them. Hint for Poppy: they're often found at florist shops. And a lovely new cotton sweater that is too much for warm weather might reconcile you to a cool June…
It occurred to me that I should clarify a couple of things. First, remember that Fairy Godmothers are fairies first, and godmothers second, so they will be hiding in bouquets of beautiful flowers when you get to the florists. Never fear, though, they are there. When you buy a few bunches of flowers, make sure there are enough to spread around a bit, as sometimes Fairy Godmothers are quite tiny and have trouble making magic in more than one room. So definitely keep a bunch in the kitchen, and one where you like to sit and read, and one on your bedside table. You will begin to feel insensibly better before long.
Poppy, when you get home tonight, have a lovely long bubbly soak in the bath, put on your favourite musical, pour yourself a glass of wine and forget your troubles for a little while, it sometimes helps me.
Big hugs,
Ronnie

Somehow childhood books are always the most comforting! I told My Sir that I had already culled as many of my books as I was going to and we HAD to find room for the ones I kept! Fairy godmothers do seem to be in short supply these days. Hmmm.
