Kissing is one of my favourite things to do in the whole world. I would rather kiss that eat ice cream. I would rather kiss than go shopping. I would rather kiss than go to a beautiful party in a beautiful dress.
Kissing is what it is all about.
Forgive the cliche kiss at the top but it is just one of the best kisses in the world. It is celebration and joy at life. It is daring do. She is leaning back into his arms and he is holding her as if he has been away at man school doing extra lessons in how to make a lady swoon. It is a kiss that makes other kisses sit quietly and watch for a while.
Kissing used to be the main event before we all grew up. To me it is still an activity all of itself. It is not something to be done on the road somewhere else. If Himself said what would you like to do I might well answer, “Be kissed by you.” and mean just that.
I like to be kissed gently and sweetly on my head.
I like to be kissed with a gentle authority that holds me in his embrace and keeps me still when all I want to be be touched everywhere and all at once by Himself. He holds my breathless passion at still and almost quiet with his finger tips, just until he beckons it forward.
I love to be kissed hello.
I love to be kissed in a casual way that suggests we have all the time in the world, it stretches before us smooth and endless, a curve of sand on the beach.
I love to be naked and shy and kissed while he is all dressed. The sensation of his clothes against my soft skin, the brush of fabric and my vulnerability in our different states.
I love the moment just before a kiss. My breath held in my throat, the anticipation of his lips on mine is heady.
I love watching his face so close and knowing the meaning of this kiss. This man loves me. I see it in his eyes. I see it in his face.
Pause this moment. I want to be left in this moment.
While searching for these kisses I found this one.
It made me cry a little.
This is very often how Himself kisses me. He holds me just so. I rest my hand on his.
Kissing shows so much love and so much desire that I know I will never kiss another man.
My lover kisses like Humphrey Bogart. I say that to make him smile.
It is true but not really because the real truth is that Humphrey Bogart kisses like my lover, not the other way around.
Need I say that I prefer kissing to being spanked? I have often suggested that if only he never stopped kissing me I would never have the chnace to get in trouble. Really that makes all my naughtiness his fault. I would be terribly grateful if someone would explain that to him because he just doesn’t seem to pay any heed to what I say about it.
You see I write something all grown up and lovely about being kissed and no matter what it always ends like this. It is terribly unfair and terribly confusing.

Poppy: I think the younger generation sometimes goes too quickly to sex and misses out on the joy of kissing and foreplay.

You played it for her, you can play it for me. (contrary to legend, he didn't say play it AGAIN), You wore blue, the Germans wore gray. This is the beginnng of a beautiful relationship. If you don't get on that plane, you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow but soon and for the rest of your life. Ok, I'll stop.
Btw, the photo of the sailor was taken in Times Square on I think VE day. It's one of the most famous pictures of the war era. I don't think the two people didn't even knew each other.

FD, she only looks like Ingrid Bergman. She acts more like Lauren Bacall in "To Have and Have Not" – that sort of sassy. And I didn't teach her everything about kissing. She'd had some practice before I arrived, but last year I did show her 'Casablanca' for the first time. Hard to believe a girl so romantic never saw that movie before, only she is young and English so allowances have to be made.
There may be differences between me and Bogey, but they don't amount to a hill of beans in this crazy world – though I don't think I could say "I'm no good at being noble" with a straight face.

I did know about the VE day photo, I think that is part of the reason I love it so much. What an amazing day and that kiss just seems to express so much of the relief and joy of the time.
And I did get a bit shy (in a good way) about the Casablanca thing. Thank you so much FD.

As for the bottom kissing, I would never tell anothet person what to do. For me, you can read and see how I like to be kissed. I like to be kissed by Himself, on the lips in just the way that he does it.
The ‘Kissing photo’, taken in Times Square, New York, on the day that World War II came to an end. Is one of the most famous photo’s ever taken. Yes, Poppy if only all of us, could be as happy as those two, the handsome sailor, and that beautiful nurse. the world could be truly heavenly. ‘Spanks’ for the memory as Bob Hope used to say.
