This is just a brief post to tell you that I am terrified.
I like running but I a like running alone. Today I am going to run 10 K (a distance that does not bother me) but rather than being alone there will be 4,999 other runners.
Instead of it being in the woods with my dogs I will be on road with out them. I have never run on road, oh, typing this I realise that I have. I ran on road when I went to visit Himself.
That helps.
But if you are watching the Lincoln 10 K today and you see a red headed girl with a pony tail looking terrified then please shout “Go Poppy!” because it could be me and that will make me smile.
I am SCARED.
I want to stay home and have a cuddle.
I will not be posting my time, I am slow. I just don’t want to come last.
I am setting off soon, please wish me luck. Or get me out of this.
Added on bit – I will respond to the comments (which made me feel very happy and I am most grateful for) but I just wanted to tell you that I did it!
I was very slow but did the time I wanted to. For some reason I found it mush, much harder than just running normally. I do not know why this was at all.
It could be that last night I produced a huge feast for everyone and porridge for breakfast and then roast lamb and roast chicken for lunch. My mind was not really ready for a race.
Your messages really, really helped- thank you very much.
I ran my first race and I did not come last!

Go Poppy! Don't be surprised if it's your fastest time ever.
Run, Poppy, Run!
Hope it was a good run with the masses. One of these days I'm gonna do a half marathon. I just gotta get myself in gear and train properly.
Poppy, dear girl, I've been thinking of you all morning.
I know that you will do well, think how well you will sleep tonight. Big smile for you.
Warm hugs,
Paul.
Go, Puppy, go!
Just make sure you're number 4999 or better.
MrJ
Go, Poppy, GO!!!
You'll do great and feel even better once the race is OVER.
Hugs!! Missy
Yay Poppy! Hope it was fun!
I'm very proud.
Just getting out there and running is winning–don't worry about your time. I admire you for being willing to do something new!
Thank you very much Babyman, Marci, Paul, Mr J (hello Mr J, how wonderful to meet you), Missy, Sara, Dev and Scarlet.
I really appreciate your kind messages. It helped so much to think of people saying nice things.
In a bit of a boring way I want to tell you about the race and I will do soon, after I have caught up with Himself, after such a busy weekend I want a long chat and a catch up.
Thank you so, so much
xx
